AI Voice Agents for Calls and Bookings
What an AI voice agent actually does on a phone line: inbound calls, bookings, call quality analytics and meetings, with the checks to run before launch.
An AI voice agent answers the phone, understands free speech, takes an action in your systems and replies in a synthesised voice. It pays off where the call flow has many identical questions: status, amounts, opening hours, bookings. Complaints, emergencies and negotiations go to an operator, who receives the call with the reason, the customer card and a transcript.
Below are three voice agents from the Initask catalog, five checks to run before launch and figures from our projects.
Three voice agents
| Agent | What it does | Catalog target |
|---|---|---|
| Voice assistant for calls | answers inbound calls, books, reschedules, routes | 80% fewer missed calls |
| Voice call analytics | scores every call against your checklist | full QA coverage |
| Voice assistant for meetings | transcribes meetings, extracts decisions and tasks | full meeting coverage |
Catalog targets are the benchmark we take into a pilot. The actual result is measured on your calls.
Five checks before launch
- Recognition on your line. A phone line carries 8 kHz audio, noticeably worse than a messenger voice note. Run recognition on 50-100 real recordings before signing anything. For critical data such as an account number, the bot repeats what it heard and asks for confirmation.
- How natural the voice sounds. Open-model synthesis of Ukrainian still sounds less natural than commercial voices. If the voice matters for your brand, budget for a commercial voice or a recorded speaker.
- Delay. A pause longer than about a second is noticeable. Streaming recognition and synthesis, plus a filler line while a slow lookup runs, keep the conversation natural.
- Parallel calls. The number of simultaneous sessions is calculated with Erlang B from peak-hour calls, average call length and the acceptable share of lost calls.
- Handover. Escalation rules are written in advance, and any technical failure sends the call to the operator queue.
Figures from our projects
- Dental clinic, demo. On our voice reception MVP, the first appointment was booked in 47 seconds from "hello" to confirmation in the calendar, with the assistant switching between Ukrainian, English, German, French and Italian.
- Security company. AI takes calls on two lines in production, and alarms go to an operator at once.
- Energy utility. In our calculation for a voice call centre, a server with two L4 GPUs paid for itself against cloud minutes in about 8-12 months. For a small flow the conclusion is the opposite: the cloud is cheaper for years.
- Insurance company. Outbound assistance calls came to 600 hours of work a month, the equivalent of 4-4.5 operators.
Call quality analytics
Once calls are recorded, every conversation, the bot's and the operators', can be scored automatically against the company's checklist. The agent fills in the scoring form and links each conclusion to the moment in the recording. The supervisor makes the decision about the operator.
Where to start
Export 50-100 recordings of typical calls and send them through the contact form together with the number of calls in the peak hour. We will return a breakdown of topics, the share a bot can take and a recognition test on your recordings, with an estimate within one working day of the brief.

Frequently asked questions
What can an AI voice agent handle on a phone line?
Routine calls with a clear answer from data: order or request status, bill amounts, opening hours, booking and rescheduling. It passes complaints, emergencies and negotiations to an operator with the context.
What should we check before launching a voice agent?
Speech recognition on recordings from your actual phone line, how natural the voice sounds, the delay between question and answer, how many parallel calls the peak needs and what happens when the bot cannot help.
Will callers know they are talking to a bot?
They should. The agent introduces itself as the company's assistant and offers a person at any point. Callers accept a bot that solves the issue quickly.
How much does an AI voice agent cost?
For Initask agents the tiers are Basic from $1,000 setup plus $120 a month, Standard from $2,500 plus $250 a month and Corporate $5,000-15,000 plus $500-1,500 a month. Telephony and voice minutes are billed separately by volume.
